Associate Pastor Job Description – 

         Harvest Point Church in Nacogdoches, TX is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Pastor.  We are an elder-led congregation affiliated with the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention.  The Associate Pastor will serve as an elder alongside the Preaching/Teaching Pastor.  This is a full time position and the primary responsibilities are leading worship and overseeing the HPC student ministry (7th-12th grades).  No application will be considered without an accompanying letter of reference and applications will be received through April 30, 2021.  Applications and reference letters can be mailed to Harvest Point Church, 2708 South Street, Nacogdoches, TX 75964 or emailed to janice.b@hpcnac.org.

Qualifications are as follows:

• agree with the Harvest Point Church constitution and bylaws (can be viewed here)
• be a professing believer in Jesus Christ who affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and growing in personal walk with Christ
• meet the qualifications of an elder/overseer in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-16
• have a passion for leading God’s people in worship and training others to do the same
• have a passion for making disciples
• some experience in leading worship in a formal setting with instruments
• be a gifted instrumentalist
• possess good communication skills
• have basic computer skills

Responsibilities will include:

• develop and implement a vision for Sunday worship at HPC in alignment with the church vision laid out by the HPC elders
• plan and lead Sunday morning worship in collaboration with the Preaching/Teaching Pastor
• recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteer musicians who contribute to Sunday morning worship
• coordinate with the media team for the Sunday morning worship service
• develop, implement, and lead a ministry strategy for the HPC Student Ministry (grades 7-12)
• preach on Sundays as needed by the Preaching/Teaching Pastor
• other pastoral/administrative responsibilities as assigned
